[Press release] Every cut to funding will be sorely missed

On the morning of 2 March, associations representing students, academic mid-level staff and professors at Swiss higher education institutions (VSS-UNES-USU, VPOD – Gewerkschaft im Service public, swissfaculty and actionuni) expressed their strong opposition to the budget cuts planned by the Federal Council on the opening of the parliamentary session.

During a joint press conference, we emphasised that even if the cuts were halved, they would still pose a major threat to education and research in Switzerland.

Every cut to funding will be sorely missed and will threaten our jobs and the quality of teaching and research.
